I get it. Israel is defending itself. that's fine, no objections there. Just stop killing so many children and civilians while defending yourself. That's all I'm asking.
Time to answer this... I find this to be more paranoid than anything. In America, the government wouldn't dare go past a certain point. I don't fear the government, because unlike some liberals I wouldn't let them pass a point. As long as there are a 100 million plus gun owners, the government will always be under our scope, and not the other way around. I know people in the military and in the police force, and they're excellent people. They too wouldn't pass a certain point, so I believe reason on our side. I'm not a commercial line asshole. I like small charter planes and or heli's...if you haven't already noticed. The public is moving in that direction, actually...just because they're so much better in service and time. I'm not paranoid about the cops...
Oh my, how long will this progress of your understanding last (for the first part of your post)? One more very important thing. Israel is not targetting civillians, for the other side its the priority. Get that too? This war would be over quickly if all civillians moved out of danger zones.
So you think. Me and my Dad talked about that. But what happens when gun ownership becomes illegal? Wasn't too long ago for the assault weapons ban remember? How about handguns in big cities, isn't that illegal in some places now?... and as long as everyone has to register their guns the government knows exactly where to go to find them. Plus, you have to remember how far technology has come. Simple guns are becoming obsolete in comparison to some of the government's arsenol. They can pretty much stop a mob of people cold in their tracks without lethal force now. Then there's the scariest part of all. The information war. As long as they continue brainwashing people into believing giving up freedoms = security and safety, it won't be long before 100 million gun owners voluntarily becomes 1 million.
Israel is indescriminately targetting anything that moves. Pretending they aren't civilians doesn't make any difference. Pretty hard to do, when you have no money, no transportation, and Israel has told you it will shoot anything that moves. A taxi ride from south lebanon to beruit (according to CNN) now costs over $500.... money many poor villagers just don't have Arnie.
It was a fairly limited assult ban. Gun ownership will never be illegal in the whole America...that would cause a Revolution. San Fran has a gun ban among a few others, but they're full of dumbasses. Paranoid? America doesn't exactly adopt the eastern european idealogy of government having absolute power. Fear real problems like mass immigration. If anything, that would lead to conflict in America. It's been the cornerstone of massive political/philosophical change in American thought...for the worse in my opinion. We used to be much more hands-off. Yet this weapon endures in war still. Remeber the LA riots...they could do nothing, and few if any of the people in the riot had guns. Any such occurence would be impossible to control. Never....Gun ownership grows at times like these. Times of peace it lessens. I happen to be looking for a rifle now.

Tell me, if the Gov decide to fuck us over...they'd no-longer have a source of wealth...so they'd have to win fast or fail like the south did in financing it's war in the civil war (believe me financing war is a huge part of it). Now given the circumstance, what are the chance that millions of Americans would be more difficult to defeat than at most 80k insurgents in Iraq? It would be impractical.
