    Hi there,

you guys may be able to help me.

I have Vista installed on my laptop. It came with the new laptop.

I want to install Vista on my PC. Can I do it?

Is Vista a 1-licence product now?

    Thank you.

Thank you "orc_dragoon". Do you know if MS has a discounted offer for a 2nd purchase for another home computer?

    Cheers

I will suggest you to contact MS support or product activation team. They will let you know if you can install it on a PC as well. I think OEM copy cannot be installed on another PC but normal retail copy can be activated on 2 laptops or 1 laptop and 1 desktop. But I might be wrong so best would be to contact them once. They would also inform you about any available discount.

In American most of the users can bear the official version. In China vista about 100$, most of the people like buy Piracy, I'm waitting for win7 about 500ï¿¥ in China. It's a nice price.

Either buy Windows XP (still available around) or wait until Windows 7. Forget buying a license to Windows Vista, waste of time and money...

Why don't you go with Windows 7? It's better than Vista.

Usually the disc will tell you the number of computers you can install the OS on, mostly you will find it is a one computer license. However, you can buy some software that allows multiple installs on networks etc, but that's not a common thing. In honesty, it's probably worth a wait and getting windows 7 rather than vista, since it'll become obselete soon

Your license will be single machine, plus if it's OEM and not a retail box your key possibly won't work on other hardware either.

MS have a "Buy Vista get Win7 Free" offer, so if you are thinking of getting another license i'd opt for that.

Win7 has been running great for me, i have never liked Vista despite being "forced" to use it daily at work i kept my home machine as XP. But 7 is worth switching to.
