Do you think content is king? Are you sure? I don’t think so. We can hear everywhere saying that content is king but for me, I would say, Marketing is king. What’s with your great content if nobody will be able to read it? You’ll just be a nobody if you have a great content but not much marketing. A lot of people are the best in their fields but don’t have the best skills. They are able to do that because they are good in marketing themselves. I’m not saying that you stop putting effort for your content because without content, you’re website will be nothing. Put some good content and do a lot of marketing, that is the secret. Put some good content so they will keep coming back. One example to support what I said above is, Coke. They don’t have the tastiest soda but they’re the best in their field. That is because of one reason, they really know how to market themselves. Do you think content is still king?
Well I still do, especially for internet, Ive visited a lot of websites once. I only bookmarked the one that has good content. Marketing prolly will get you those important first visit, but for the returned visitor you'd still have to rely on your content.
As what i've said above, content is part of marketing. Have good content so for all the first visits, a lot will be coming back.
content is NOT part of marketing ...lol marketing = advertising = building a buzz = building backlinks you have to have good content, or no one is going to stick around after all the advertising you've done show me a page with no content that is doing an outstanding job in the search engines... you won't fine one
Unique content is a very important part for a good SERP. Ranking high with a duplicate content is close to impossible. Unique content + lots of backlinks is the way to go
You've just said what i said in the 5th paragraph above. I didn't say to stop doing content and focus on marketing that is why i said that content is just part of marketing, since without content, what will you market.

Yeah, for me content is still the KING and it's different from marketing. Content is still the important thing in organic SEO, even without a good marketing, good content still easily found by Google
Even with organic seo, content is not king. Don't fall into that sac of lies by google. Spam and black hat seo is king. Other than major corporations or very well established sites, you can get to the top with any keywords.
Backlinks are king...until search engines "grow up" and start relying on real metrics like bounce rate and CTR of internal pages

I have to agree with you that content is not king. I believe that SEO is king and content is only the base of SEO. Content alone will not rank high in the search engines as so many believe. Backlinks play a role in content getting ranked. Great content get people to come back to your site. Great SEO work gets the people there in the first place.
