I need a US host with a UK IP address

A client needs a site hosting in the UK to achieve better rankings in the UK serps. The IP address of the server needs to resolve to the UK.

For reasons I won't go into the site needs to be actually hosted outside the UK.

Can anyone recommend a host who is outside the UK but who has servers registed in the UK? Or any other method of doing this......

 

What you need to find is a US host with a datacenter in the UK. That's the way you'll get the IP to resolve to the UK address.

 

Yeah, any ideas? I have a very good UK host that I use for all my websites. This client needs to be hosted offshore for legal reasons though.

 

Have you through about hosting the site in the US, while hosting the domain name in the UK and have an index page which takes you to this site.

 

Thats not really an option. Hosting location is the major factor in the serps.

 

Your domain name would still be hosted in the UK, just the files in the US.

 

I really think that domain name is more important than IP address. My .co.uk domain is hosted in the US with a US IP, but is doing just fine in UK SERPS. I wouldn't worry about it. Just avoid the 'bad neighbourhoods'.

I've been using them for a year and the support and uptime is good. It's not too pricy either so if they can do what you're asking I'd recommend them
