The answer is simple! The people can kill Google, every large company does something that really p!$$es off their customers at one time or another, it is just a matter of time for their first major test, Google owns very little in the way of main stream media such as newspapers and TV, it would only take a few big stories from these medium's for mass population to boycott Google for a day then a week then who knows, and some lucky company will just pick up that traffic. Also dont forget that www.baidu.com is huge. It may not affect the western search but it dominates over Google in China who has a population of 1,330,044,544! compared to the US = 304,059,724, UK = 60,943,912 etc... Speaking for western europe and the US, we are so heavily reliant on outsourcing that our businesses would struggle to survive without them now compared to 10 years ago, this has changed the way we do businesses, at somepoint many western businesses will reply on baidu.com as they do with Google and this could start to level the playing field, after that who knows, but its the most sensible way of having a two horse race.
Nothing can Kill Google..If you're saying the Bing or Yahoo could pull down Google then that is a big Joke...
if bing offers free useful and powerful apps for common surfer and to web developer plus buying facebook then their might have a chance.
I've gotten used the way Google responds to queries, like if I enter an address, it goes into the google maps mode.. on yahoo if I enter an address it goes into maps.yahoo.com, loads a random city and starts up with driving directions.. stupid... Bing at least shows the map too... There was a command based search engine I liked a while back... i.e. if you want to search for google you'd type "g (search term)", or yahoo would be "y (search term)".... if I had gotten used it that would be my first pick having started my PC life on DOS 3.11 and liking command lines.
No one can hit or kill google, it is the master of search engines Since many search engines joining to hit them,it is not possible dude.
Just start form some practical point, I think we should begin to optimize for Bing.com Yahoo/Bing will have a search market share of at least 15% (that's the current market share of MSN and Yahoo combined - some statistics show a much higher market share). I think think BING gonna kill Google or so, but it won't hurt if we could do both well!!
Time will prove these opinions. In my side, as of now, no one can kill Google, even if Yahoo and Bing combines. But still, everyone has the chance to excel and improve. We can never tell if the next 10 years Google can stands still being the number one Search Engine in the Web World.
