    Hi,

I have a client who is interested in using the domain name above for a startup business, and it is for sale - how much is it worth?

The only free appraisal I have found so far values it at $109...

In my opinion it's not worth much beyond the fact it's short, but would value your opinions :)

    Thx

I'd pay $109 for it. I like really short domains. But I'd be hardpressed to come up with a site for it. Maybe selling UniVersal Remotes? hehehe

Yes, exactly. My client is only interested in it as it reflects a business he is starting - there are much better seo'd domain names available, but he likes the idea of the short name.

    Any other valuers or opinions?

Yes, but I didn't want the domain named directly since DP threads have a habit of turning up in search results

Do you know the domain, or its seller?

The seller might put a price tag of about $4k - $8k.
Also appraisal section i believe is for domains you personally own... :)

Well no sale to my client if he expects that kind of cash.

Personally I find it laughable that anyone should expect big $$$ for an undeveloped domain - the value comes from what is done with it, though I appreciate some domains are inherently worth more if they are catchy phrases.

Besides, there's always unregistered domains that suit so long as you're prepared to think laterally or creatively :)

I could understand if someone asked for an appraisal on a random domain it could be considered a bit cheeky, but this domain is for sale? But hearing your estimated price, this is not something I'm likely to repeat either ;)

Ultra Violet Radiation at a guess?

I would expect a 3 letter dot com with any meaning to the name to go for at least $900 and get into the $xxxx range. Considering that you can pay $200+ for a 3 character LLN or NLL domain anyhow.

Is it uvr, that means 3 letter .com, LLL.com. If so I will pay $1000 for it :). Only if its 3 letter .com which means all the 3 letters are words.

Andy, yours is the only 'meaningful' abbreviation I've been able to come up with, which is hardly a commercial one and nothing to do with my client's business.

The seller has indicated offers below $75k are not considered for 3 letter domains they 'squat' so I told him to have a nice day lol.

75k? For an undeveloped domain? ROFL!

If it was microsoft.com maybe -- lol

I mean honestly, in a few years, the TLD probably won't even matter (.com .net .org etc). I mean .com is the standard now, but there's sooooo many websites out there nowadays that I bet in a few years nobody will care whether it's .com or .ws or .us or .zz as long as it's a good domain. And there's still plenty of short domains with the other TLDs besides com org and net.

Thx correctus, my client would have paid between those prices no problem, but $75k is just laughable for an undeveloped domain.
