I just wrote some short tips for beginners who are looking to gain some experience in SEO.

SEO is nothing about strict rules however if you do take seo into consideration it can help you rank better.

 

i have read all 10 tips and i think this is very use full for beginners ....

 

Don't you think sweta...tips are good for beginners but it should be in detail also.....like key word density and many other basic factors.....

it would be better you provide more details like

1) use not more than 4 keywords

2) your first word in title should be your first keyword

3) Search engine loves text ..so make your text on the page relevant to the keyword.It is better to have 500 words as text

4) always prefer to maintain css file outside the page as search engine likes text and not codes.

5) if u use a image , make sure that alt text of the image shld be filled.It is good to have the keyword as a alt some thing like keyword+pic

6) always make sure that u have your keyword in h1 and h2 tags

7) always make backlinks from websites relavent to ur niche and make sure to have your link on a page which has less outbound links

8) it is good to have ur keyword in your domain name


and there are many things like this to be considered ..so please modify your blog according to the flexibility to the begginers...

He didn't say 18 tips for beginners, he said 10, his 10 and they were appreciated....if you want to give tips open your own thread instead insulting others. Talk about rude...

The TO was trying to put a list of some things together that would help a Noob to improve his rankings. Even so, I disagree with point 2 and 5, I think when a noob does all this it will do his site better then following your suggestions. Also his list doesn't claim to be comprehensive or complete. Just some tips.

Lets look at some of yours:

Complete rubbish. You can target as many keywords as you like, as long as the content of your site can support them. If you meant to say don't target more then 4 per page, thats a different story. If you were talking about keywords in meta data - wrong else well, keyword meta tags get ignored completelly. The best keyword tag is no keyword tag.

Says who? Why?

Search engines can very well distinguish between code and text. Whilst I agree with the use of CSS for other reasons, its not something that needs to be on a 10-tips-for-noobs list.

He mentioned the use of headers

Does that mean if there many other links on that page, the noob who probably got no links to start with, should not accept such links?

A wide spread missconseption. The choice of the domain should not be influenced by SEO issues. Having the keyword in the domain is a minor benefit compared to the advantages of an easy to remember domain name.

This type of tip, just encourages the noob to register things like:
www . keyword-keyword-keyword-phrase.com

Hey there,

Things differ with all sites. I know search engine loves original and seo friendly text but there is no limit that it should be atleast 500 words. Well if its a blog then the text should be more and original, which should be updated regularly but its if a site of shopping, Google will hardly find any text. So its better you choose right KW and optimize it at right sources (same niche sites) and good sites(less outbound links).

6) always make sure that u have your keyword in h1 and h2 tags i agree,i alway tag my keyword in h1 h2,but each page can only have one h1

7) always make backlinks from websites relavent to ur niche and make sure to have your link on a page which has less outbound links good!

8) it is good to have ur keyword in your domain name maybe,i am not sure about it ,some website with bad url also rank hight in Google

One of the tip is "Your content should have important keywords in bold" I have not seen this tip on best seo pro's blogs/website. It means you give more importance to search engine then your actual visitors.
