Only 25% of business sites use videos, while all the research shows that sites selling the exact same products/services convert dramatically more sales. So why isn't every biz site producing video to drive sales?
Because a lot of smaller website owners do not want to take the time to make the videos. Nor do they want to spend the money to pay someone to make the videos for them. Take a look at the sites that use videos - news.yahoo.com, news.bbc.co.uk, cnn,,,,, all of the large sites. But when you get down to the smaller sites, very few of them have videos. Making videos takes a lot of time and effort. Most people do not want to take their weekends, and use that time to make videos for their sites. They would rather watch TV or spend that time with their family.
i agree. It takes a lot of "professionalism" to create a good video that sells well. You need correct lighting, background, a good camera, AND a decent person in the video that can capture the attention of the person watching. Like webpages, you probably only have a few seconds to impress the audience before they will move on if they are not interested. Doing this properly could take a lot of time and money for some.
And besides that, they also don't want to invest in making quality content for their videos. Of course, if we're talking YouTube, quality is HIGHLY subjective, but bets are good that well-done videos, in setup and execution, get traffic. And lots of people don't have the time for that.
I would like to know a few also. Video seems to be a lot of work, but if the returns are that much better it may well be worth looking into more.
Amateur videos are good for "homemade" reviews, professional looking videos are good for the main sites.
