Hi there just wondering if anhyone knows how to get a gaming license to use with google adwords, I have an account with them and tried to advertise my poker frum with them but they refused it saying I needed a gamiing licence and the same for a bingo site I was trying to advertise. So any info on where to get one and what info I need to do it would be great. Thanks in advance
I would think it would depend on where you're located. Are you in the States? If so which state? If not, where are you located? edit: Also where specifically are the servers located? Specific datacenter would be a plus.
No I am in the UK, I am not sure what you mean about server loactions I am just using a broadband provder SKY in the UK.. My site is only a forum not an actual gaming site thats why I wasnt sure why they would need it. Thanks
I have a feeling that you just filled out the wrong form. Give this a read: http://adwords.google.com/support/aw/bin/request.py?contact_topic=gambling I have a feeling that, without seeing your sites, Google is going to classify you an "Aggregator Services" since it sounds like this forums are for the discussion of those games. By the way, trying to run websites from your home isn't the brightest thing to do. Find yourself a host.
Thanks for the advice, I will go back and start again, I did think that they may have got it wrong as like you say, just there for the discussion of the games tactics etc. Do you have any good hosting services in mind ? I am still new to the whole hosting thing and just looking for the best deals I can get. Thanks
Not really although I'm sure folks will be spamming this thread shortly with their suggestions. One thing I will suggest though is that you go with a UK host, simple to keep any legal concerns straight. I would thinki it would be hard to keep a site legal if you were having to monitor both, for example, UK laws since that's where you are and US laws if you were to go with a US host. The US has some rather strict laws concerning online gambling which is why most sites aren't US based, even though most of their customers are from the US. Good luck, -drmike
