Google Analytics steal my page rank

Discussion in 'Google Analytics' started by adstiger, Sep 11, 2009.

The Google Page Rank of my website was 3 before I added the code of Google Analytics to the home page. One month later the PR fell to 2.

I think the page rank fell due to google analytics.

That's not the case. It's something else entirely.

PR has absolutely nothing to do with analytics. It boggles my mind that people think Google would penalize people who use their services! That would be the most backwards marketing strategy ever, "Let's alienate all the webmaster of the world, because I'm sure people who are experts in social marketing and seo have absolutely no affect on what search engine people use."

Your PR most likely fell because you lost some backlinks.

    Agreed.

Google are going to happy that you're using your tools if anything, but it won't have any affect on your PR.

You should keep track of your backlinks, so you have a rough idea of why your PR has dropped rather than making assumptions like this.

There is no relationship between the pagerank with analytics, decrease your pagerank something different.

That's almost as bad as saying my page rank fell because I submitted my sitemap.

Lol, sitemap submissions might actually hurt you in SERP, when it's not done properly and a deep scan from Google reveal tons of broken links. But as for google analytics code, it has no effect, since it's in script, Google doesn't factor in anything in script as part of their page rank.

I am also sure that this is not done according to your reason. And about your ranking, it may be some other reasons like.

You not updating or doing link exchange and other seo stuffs.

I wonder which is the real fact?
Logically, GA can be a reference for google to determine PR since GA gain complete traffic details of your site...
