Hi Everyone I have heard many people say that selling on eBay is dead. I'm here to proof that its not and when it comes down to it, it just takes dedication and determination. In fact if you focused on the two main words above, you would see that you can accomplish almost anything. so here is the deal, I'm going to use an eBay account that I have had which I think has around 100 feedback or so. I'm going to start selling ebooks and software and hopefully can save enough money to take my family to Hawaii. Now since I already sell on eBay, I basically duplicating my success in which I'm going to show people how to get started. If you want to learn how to sell on eBay, follow along at http://www.edsonbuchanan.com I hope to help people out along my journey and words of encouragements would be great. Thanks everyone Edson
alright so today I have set up my eBay name and now working on the graphics for the eBay store. I also explained why its important to have a unique look and hopefully by mid week I can get graphics implemented.
like your blog design its simple and easy to navigate.. Best of luck with it and will be following you to see if it works or not
you can sell ebooks and other digital products as long as you put them on CD and ship as a physical product.
Unless you have the time and money to burn things on disc, I wouldn't recommend selling digitally anymore It's simply not worth it.
I thought you would have known that fact if you are an experienced and established ebay seller Edson? I appreciate what you trying to do OP but as has been stated selling digital products on ebay is not easy since they changed the rules - my experience tells me that they dont sell as well any more as buyers rarely want to pay extra for shipping when chances are they can get that exact same item else where online with no shipping costs as a direct digital download....... Im not sure what other options there are for items to sell as the competition is severe for everything that can be already dropshipped and profit margins so slim - that is why people dont see ebay as the big money making opportunity it once was...... You have to find products at the right price to make the profit margin, time, effort worth it and which have demand. Its hard and surely would take a bit of time and research, trial and error unless one already knows what else to sell that will be profitable enough.
@Keen4Cash: I am pretty sure he does know that. Also, I agree that selling digital products (in a physical form) is not dead...it is all about the upsell
Making money on ebay is dead? Rubbish. Trying to sell junk ebooks on ebay? Was that ever really alive to begin with?
Hi Guys Thanks for all the comments. I think the best part of selling digital products on eBay is the simple fact that so many people are against or don't believe it can be done. It really opens the door for beleivers that want to profit. I really dont like showing off stats because I think it is sort of a big headed thing. I really dont like the "I make 10k a month and you can also with my simple to follow formula" Although some programs work, its just not the type of person I am. But with so many people thinking it cant be done on this post, I want to show stats from this month from another one of my eBay accounts that is making some really good money selling digital products on CD. This is a photo taken from a week ago, check out my feedback at http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Digitaldirect4u if you don't believe me Now I'm not going to tell everyone that its simple as 123 formula. It does require some work but when its finally set up and running well, just a few hours a day. Thanks for everyone that is pushing me along to success and I wish much success to you all
I was referring to your comments on "ebooks and software" Selling legit software is one thing - people are always looking for the cheapest price and will buy from anywhere as long as its safe I was referring more to ebooks being a different story as many of the same sold there are available for dime as dozen or free if you know the right sites - why bother to pay for extra shipping if its not needed is my point. Guess some people lack the knowledge to find them elsewhere online and rather trust ebay? Edson, no doubt everyone will appreciate your effort here Q: But if you are already making big money from doing it at ebay and you start doing it on another account then: all you are proving that it can be duplicated with a system you know works so how much of challenge is that? Wish you luck and will watch this space
Great post above...and your right it might not be much of a challenge for me as I already know how to sell on eBay. What I'm hoping to accomplish from this challenge is that people will see that it can be done even starting new. yes of course I can pay for the Hawaii trip for my family and its all because of eBay. But I thought it would be informational to show people how to do it from scratch and that it can be done. I'm even thinking about creating a blue print program! so if I can do it again, people will see that it can be done. The challenge is for all of us if that makes sense.
congrats for u.... i just post 3 item on ebay, and until now.. it's have 0 view. do have tips for me in marketing a middle east asian traditional cloth?
Best tip I have is dont let eBay be the only source of traffic. There are to many sellers to depend on eBay's traffic system. instead drive traffic to your store url just like any other sites. Create some articles and post them in article directories. You will see some views and bids. Edson
