I just found this page which I was searching for the same. http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp This is very interesting indeed. Firefox is ferociously eating up the competition, just look at where it started in 2003 at 4% and now has 47% share.
Also relieving to know IE6 users decreasing fast, what a burden for web desigers;)

Well, that link is an old one... but anyway, my comment: I think you should design your site to load correctly in Firefox, Opera and Safari first, and next tweak to make it work in IE too. If you reverse the order, you will just put a burden on your own work.

Ya true, now IE has very less users comparatively. Also lot of headache, I dont understand why they dont clear up their simple problems, like one problem I had with IE was it didnt allow png transparent images.

Nice page there James. But I think the statistics are old.. Firefox is not mentioned and IE 6 is 54%, seems little impossible today.

The Stats page is updated just about every work day (latest I read was for 12 Sep 2009) -- read the caveats carefully especially regarding usage reporting -- Firefox is reported under the Geko Engine -- IE 6 usage is from 12% to 54% depending on the input source -- world-wide there are an enormous number of Library systems, Academic Institutions and Governmental agencies locked in to IE 6 usage -- and will be for years to come.

i typically do the same as jothtree...creating two stylesheets. In some cases you might even need to create three if you really care about Internet Explorer 6. I really hope IE6 just dies soon.

Be careful. W3schools is not a typical user base.

Mom and pop don't care about arrays and strings.
