your cardio should be in the best condition. Plan out how your going to cycle around the world. Route/accommodations and such

This wont be easy, and you should be cycling almost 24/7

Maybe in a year or so you can do it

    Start feeding yourself properly.

    And start conditioning for endurance/cardio.

It'll take much more than a year, by the way.

In my opinion, you should start by getting permission.
Then, you can practice every day. Try to travel from city to city in your country, (for example 500 KM so start with ;) )
    Have a nice day.

As far as gaining sponsors go, it's just like anything else in that you'll have to market yourself. You can create some blogs or Twitter accounts for example and get the word out there of what you're trying to accomplish and that you're looking for some sponsorship. If you use online marketing you can get people who may be interested in in sponsoring you.

Best of luck with it, I like your mindset about it

    Regards

Buy a lot of Red Bulls because you should also be cycling during the night if you want to break the record.

You have to be very fit and have good stamina in order to beat him, believe me it's not so easy.
