I would not worry quite yet as long as Caffeine rolls out the way it currently is. I am seeing the same thing. Google is doing a big adsense update on Saturday I am hearing. I am awaiting to see if they do anything with caffeine around the same time.
Thanks! I am also waiting.. and hope everything will be fine. But this week I am very worried about happened...
I think the caffeine update must have happened very recently, I am noticing many different changes in the results.
In my opinion the intial aim of Caffeine is to get the same results as the current Google gets - thats why Google is making it available to test. As its new software once its tested and when they get the results the same and stable then they can test out the real changes they want to do. That I think is the scary future.
Hasn't happened yet there is still a difference in the datacenters however many are seeing alot of fluxing going on in google.com which is a sign it may be near.
I'm beginning to suspect that this sandbox thing is actually a sandtrap. All the people obsessively searching on caffeine now are SEO's. It's an easy way for Google to identify the people who over-SEO their sites. In a few more weeks everyone who kept hitting caffeine will have all their sites BANNED FOR LIFE
I sincerely dought that. Google has announced this to major corporations including an announcement Wall street last week.
Here is something interesting to note. Yesterday I removed a few keywords from the main page and noticed this morning when I checked caffeine I had dropped 6 positions for a certain search. I replaced the keywords and within 1/2 an hour I had moved back up. This shows me that the indexing speed in caffeine has really improved as Google is talking about.
I cant see that this is related. we have also seen the indexing and ranking speeds very much faster, but I cant believe they re-cached your first, and then your second changes almost instantaneously? what's the cache date on the page?
Here is what i've noticed. I've been looking through Caffeine SERPs since it had been launched and saw its results changed too, i'd say once a week for some key phrases. There are some sites that returned "from dead" on caffeine that were previously rightfully banned in some way, some of them were even deindexed for spamming. Some of the pages are useless rewritten articles that dropped positions due to overoptimization with backlinks. New caffeine shows them around top 10 now. I am not saying that your site is useless, NO NO NO, some sites drop positions due to some unverified reasons. I am just trying to say that Coffeine search shown to us now is not the final version, it will be different on the rollout, those spam sites will vanish again, but hopefuly yours and many other helpful domains would stay!
I agree with your assessment of caffeine results we are seeing now. Is like all penalties have not been applied and results are not changing much or at all for the market I follow. Keywords I look after are giving the same results in caffeine today that they displayed 3 weeks ago, and that isnt at all probable that they will stay that way, even though I do wish they would.
russianzio, Thanks for answer! I've got a website with flash online games, and I have optimized it also using articles with backlinks on my own blogs (on Wordpress and Blogger). But, the situation is so, that I still have all my lost keywords in the TOP10 on different google data centers such as *.co.uk, *.ca, *.au, *co.in, etc.. but I lost my positions on google.COM SERPs. And that is interesting and unusual... but now I see my lost keywords in Caffeine SERPs exactly in *.com data center..
I agree however there are many sights that got hit hard with Big Daddy that are not spam sites, The serps since Big Daddy have been in my opinion very poor. I don't know how many times i have searched for something and had to go to page 2 or 3 before I start finding what I am actually looking for. The Caffeine results however are much mor relevant. I am seeing changes in positions daily and they are fresh results atleast in my sector. I really do not think this is a case of penalties being applied or not. I believe this is more of the new way Google will be indexing sites. I think they let go of some of the filters that were causing good sites to tank in Big Daddy so that better results are showing. This is my opinion only.
I am merely making an obsevation of what I have seen. The first changes may have happened 24 hours later I am not sure never checked, however the changes this morning happened very quick. I am not sure if the cache date has to do with it or not. The page was cached 4 days ago. I t may very well be concidense however it may not. Just checked again and and it has stayed at the top position since i changed it this morning.
It exactly how it goes, sometimes one key phrase gets penalized but still stays on top for some DCs, or local google search. A couple of years ago i made a mistake in scripts and didn't notice that, the Serps kept twitching like crazy on .com but stayed the same on co.uk Came back to normal when i fixed the mistake. Google algo is far from perfect even if it is currently the best!
Looks like 99% of the webmasters like the Caffeine results (alot of us see penalties gone for NOW) but Google Search will only care for the relative search, ordinary people should find what they are looking for hitting the first 3 results. Google should answer to what "everybody wants" which is impossiple as so many people do not know themselves! As for caffeine indexing speed i would say they are slower to catch new published pages (my experience) I tested with at least 20.
Remove the backlinks from your own blogs and you will get your SERPs back, of course in you have multiple other quality related natural backlinks! Forget about Article dump directories, if you overdo there, you'll get a slap as well!
