SEO Techniques for Yahoo vs. Google

One thing I have found interested after working on several websites is that some can be on page one of search results in Google, but page 14 on Yahoo, some can be on page one of Yahoo and not even showing in Google, etc.

Is there a specific set of SEO techniques that are geared towards helping sites rank better in Yahoo?

From day one till now, Yahoo has continued counting the on page elements more than the Google which relies on counting the incoming links for giving websites rankings.

Focus on meta tags and quantity as well as quality backlinks, for yahoo, focus on quantity rather than quality and old school seo tactics like titles, URLs and meta tags

Yahoo is getting smarter nowadays. The old trick with keywords and meta description is not panacea anymore. For example they do rely on backlinks as Google - try Yahoo Site Explorer

I wouldn't bet on this. Always there is a new guy coming on the scene...just like Google vs. Microsoft and Firefox vs. IE. There should be competition so the big players to improve

Another thing about yahoo, is that they don't care of your domain name's TLD. I've had .infos ranked #1 on yahoo while as they were no where to be seen on google. It all depends on how you do your SEO as well.

Google's Search Alogarithms are very powerful. Yahoo too have great data but, in order to optimize Yahoo, you need to take all those factors for which Google ranks you Plus the On Page Optimization should be good including links from Web 2.0 Websites.

That is the most interesting answer. Bing is new so I haven't got any ideas. Anyone please tell us about Bing. They have webmaster central, also?
