Contest $20 Quick PayPal - Improve This Screen (Another one)

Hi guys,

I need to have another screen improved (instructions are below the image) - I ran a similar contest 2 days ago with great success:


Basically, I think it's too plain.

I would like for you guys to think up ideas on how to make it more fancy.

For example, this portal is for football (soccer) players, so you could add a little bar under the picture that says "PLAYER".

Perhaps you could make a better looking bar above each box - the gray stuff is plain etc etc. The more attention you pay to detail the better chance you have of success. Please no 3-d or stock image stuff. Small shadows are ok.

Anyways, I will leave it to your imagination.

can i go wild like my previous entry of your previous contest? basicallly i would like to continue what i have started in this theme:
ofcourse using that colorscheme u provided.

 

Go for it Sabosushimi, I look forward to see what you create - just keep the concept sports related - like in the black bar... you used a grassy concept as background but I'd prefer it to be something like a football crowd or something similar. I love your design style though.

@Sabosushimi: Like i stated earlier, it would be cool if it was sports themed... and not just some general curves in the background. Also... I cannot have a huge background across the entire screen as this has to be styled with css and cut for html... and having a huge background would add huge overhead.

@CrimeProductions: Nice attempt too but also the same remark as above... we cannot have a huge background behind the whole thing because of the overhead. Also... the heading texts cannot be drawn... they have to be written in text since in the actual portal the texts are dynamic (they change).

@Sabosushimi - the bar looks neat. Perhaps you can add something similar for each of the boxes too... and rounded corners there? Also, I'd like to see some more color... I don't want the whole thing looking too dull... black in the bar is ok, but other stuff should be coloured.

Also, any ideas for styling the stats table?

Thanks Sabosushimi, nice changes. The only problem is that it would be very hard to code each small box separate with a separate background as the box height varies depending on the content (your boxes have a diagonal line through them with different size background... perhaps a single color would be better).

I will wait for other entries to see what ideas other people have before I make up my mind.

@oliv3r: that is way too dark.

@bizzard: the rounded boxes in the left would be really hard to code and perhaps there is too much blue there. I do like the tab menu though, looks neat.
