Female Muscle, the largest female bodybuilding site on the Internet, needs a new look. Here is the current theme: http://femalemuscle.com/ Female Muscle is seeking a clean, magazine style theme that meshes the current Female Muscle style, with some of the navigation functionality of sites like: http://www.muscleandstrength.com/ http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/index.html Female Muscle has been on the web for 15 years, and has a vast amount of content. Because of this, the site needs to have sections or blocks that can feature content sections such as articles, nutrition, galleries, etc. These block should be in the sidebar section and/or below primary content, and allow space for small images, mini-descriptions, and lists and links. These content blocks do NOT need to tie in with categories. They only need to be flexible, so that someone familiar with HTML can work with them. For examples of a block style, check out the Muscle and Strength content blocks in the link above. Female Muscle also needs a theme that has plenty of space for ads...468x60, 125x125, sidebar vertical banners, etc. We do NOT need space for Google ads. --Text should not be overly small. --The theme need a primary column where posts can be featured, ala the current theme. Female Muscle frequently posts large images and videos, so at least the first 5 posts nee to be featured in the primary column. Other posts can, but do not need to be, featured like the older posts on the following theme: http://www.muscleandbrawn.com Older posts in the primary column could also be summarized, and include a thumbnail. --The theme needs to be professional looking, clean and not look like a typical three column blog theme. Again, more of a magazine style. --Integration of a photo gallery section below primary content, or vertically in the sidebar would be a plus. Female Muscle has thousands of custom images that visitors need access to. --The site is visuals driven. --The theme needs a minimum of 3 columns. A 4th, smaller vertical ad column would also be acceptable. --Female Muscle does not want an overly busy theme. Crisp, colorful, and professional. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Contest Specifics ----------------------------------------------------------------- --This contest will run no longer then 14 days. --At any time during the contest, a winning theme could be announced. --We are preferably looking for a fully functional theme, and not just a PSD. BUT, if a top notch PSD is put together, but can't be coded, we MAY award the contest to the submitted PSD. We would prefer a complete project, but are flexible. --The contest pays $250 via PAYPAL ONLY. This is for a fully functional theme. If only a PSD is submitted, and is chosen as the winner, the contest prize will be $150 for that PSD. --We will respond to questions and submissions as quickly as possible. Keep all questions on this thread please. This way, I do not have to answer the same question multiple times. --LOGO. You are allowed to modify, and or get creative with the current logo. The logo does need to include the following: "Lori Victoria Braun Presents:" and "The Largest Female Bodybuilding Website on the Planet"
Just finished the design. Took me almost 6/7 hours. This design probably is one of the best I've done, among my masterpieces. Wow. I decided to PM, instead of posting. BUT, if you need me to post it, I would. The reason im PMing you this, is because since im the first contestant, I believe there will be imitators. And in regards to the work and effort I've put in this, I don't want anyone copying any part/style/element of my work. Thanks. AND, all of that being said - I am NOT the best designer of the world. Good luck to everyone.
Thanks for the entry. I have emailed it to the folks at FM, and will provide feedback as soon as I can.
Gamer316...I received your entry. It didn't really follow the guidelines as presented. Maybe take another look at the initial post. Orange doesn't work so well for a bodybuilding style site. The colors need to be more colorful.
the best designer is always an innovator not an immitator. if you think your design is best, go on and show it as i always do. whats the use of saying that its the best if you cant show it. try to be the best and always be fair about it
Some prefer to show designs openly, and some prefer to PM. I have no preference, and I can understand boths sides of the argument.
A very solid entry! The only possible tweaks would be the addition of a 468x60 banner in the header area, text above photo galleries with what category that gallery image is from, and maybe a line under galleries that says "more galleries." The major issue with the theme is overall lack of add space. No room for 125x125's or a 468x60. Having the gallery images centered would have been nice as well, but that is a trivial issue which could be fixed when its ported from PSD.
how'd this go? who won? i spent a lot of time putting together than entry.. please let us know what happened.
No one won. DP doesn't allow hot posts/contests to move to the top when responded to, so this contest sank like a rock and had only your entry. I provided you with feedback, but you never responded. I understand you put a lot of work into this. But when you never responded, and this contest sunk like a rock, I was forced to seek elsewhere to get quality work. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=12472961&postcount=13 Consider this thread closed.
