    Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone uses yahoo answers for marketing a new website? I have also seen direct linkable links in other yahoo responses but if I cant' seem to get mine linkable, even with thml tags. Anyone know what type of tags yahoo answers use to make a link linkable?

    Thanks

Yahoo answers is a great way to market a website. Google tends to rank yahoo answers pretty highly (sometimes in the top 5). AS stated above, you have to earn points in order to be able to post direct links. You earn these points by answering questions.

Definitely a great way to market your website! But why limit yourself to Y! Answers? There are plenty of other "answer" websites on the WWW ;)

Only post a maximum of 2 links relating to the question though, anymore and they don't like it!

Don't try to spam Y! Answers else your posts will BE deleted in no time...you gotta be very careful and reasonable in doing such things. The answer posted must be "an answer" in the first place...the link comes later...you may use it as "Source" or as part of a descriptive answer.

    Yes and no.

No - I personally do not use yahoo answers to market anything.

Yes - My main forum is considered as an authority in its field, so other people post links to it in yahoo answers.

If you are having to post your own links in yahoo answers, your going about it the wrong way. Take the questions off yahoo answers that might be related to your sites topic, and post a big write up about it on your site. When other people have the same question, hopefully your blog/site/forum will rank well enough in google for people to find the answer.

The power in marketing your site is not in a single person doing the marketing. Its to establish yourself as a good source of information so that other people will link to you.

If you use it on daily basis and accomplished level two so your links become linkable automatically. If you are in level one so you have to cross atleast 200 points.

Yahoo Answers can be good but the answer needs to have merit not just be a link drop or you will quickly find yourself banned.

Using Yahoo Answers is good - high traffic site so plenty of focused exposure available. But, as mentioned above be careful with how you include your links. Try to post at least 40% of your answers without linking back to your site - if every answer has a link back to your site it's a little obvious you're a promoter.

Yeah get your level up first by answering some non-related content questions and once your level 2 then start advertising your link. Traffic will build up decently once you have a couple hundred links posted.

I've got a level 5 rating..and I've never got much traffic when I did link marketing in Yahoo Answers. Nor have I really seen many of the pages indexed, so I don't bother with it really.
