Correct but how many people have OLED displays? You do have false claims. I don't think people would even care that you saved this much. I would suggest having your server hooked up to a solar power, or wind generator and say no energy was used on our part to display these results, or something to that affect ( I wouldn't use that I just made it up ).
If you work on a business strategy like that you are not going to get very far. Why post here and then refuse peoples sggestions and act defensive when they do suggest something good.
I'd just like to second the fact that LCD/TFT monitors save no more energy when displaying black than when displaying white. CRTs do, though. I also agree on OLED - indeed, OLED will consume less when the black pixel is "active".
Where do you assume that? I would like to have links to actual facts instead of words from your mouth. Bottom line, if you are using a custom google search engine. Chances are you are not going to see hardly any return. Sure, you will get a few visitors here and ther by spaming DigitalPoint with your discrete forum bumping but hey it's okay you are trying something right? Now I don't know how much time and effort went into creating this ( clearly not a lot ). But I can tell you as a search engine owner myself that its not hard you have major competition and I'm not just talking about G, I'm talking about the even smaller ones that are your current competition, Blackle, etc. I suggest you go to compete.com to see traffic for your competition to see if it is possible to obtain your goals ( whatever they are ) you can pretty much assume what kind of traffic you would get in the event it does catch on and does compete with closely similar niches. Please just let this thread DIE! I'm tired of having it in my email everyday. There is no point in actually responding to this post, I probally will never ever be back on this thread again. But I do wish you the best of luck, especially since you have no advertising budget ( that sucks... and is going to make it hard ). But best to you and blackle ermm.. bpled
Just because you are bad with web design doesn't mean you should think you don't need to change anything because 10% (your words) of people like it! To make it better you should accept that 90% of people don't like it and find out what needs to be improved.
Thank you for your information, I cant let this thread die because i want some more votes on the poll to get a real result. You can't unsubscribe?
Haven't you got the general idea yet? From this poll, 70% of people have said it's less than average (Less than 5) with nearly 45% giving you 0/10. It's pretty obvious that you're working on a website that isn't going to succeed, it really is just a MFA site. I would recommend trying something else, maybe a blog or something
totally agree, instead making something that has been made too many times don't believe me then i will give you a list: http://www.googleblackle.com/ http://www.jabago.com/ http://www.earthle.com/ http://www.googlelightoff.com/ http://www.ninja.com/ http://www.googledark.info/ http://www.googoth.co.in/ http://godark.us/ http://blackle.com/ why not make something like theese site: http://www.ecocho.com/ http://www.greenmaven.com/
Good list. I don't think it will help him though. Like he said, he wants to wait for more people to vote to get a "real" result, which he has convinced himself is that people love his site. If he doesn't want to take advice (and enough has been given), just let him learn for himself.
There's nothing wrong with a dutch blog. You'll still be able to rank on your native Google NL, it doesn't need to be in English to succeed.
I don't like it, and will never move from google. I hate products that ride on the back of other products! Is there something wrong with being original? As for the energy saving I'm not that fussed about that either to be honest, I recycle, I turn my lights off and have a very good energy efficiency house, I think I'm entitled to my white high voltage Google for my pleasure
