So I wanted to get some feedback from people that may have done similiar to what I am trying to do. I have several specific landing pages for specific products I have for sale on my website. I want to optimize locally for cities i live in. For Instance... Lets say for example the keyword is 'blue widgets los angeles' The total results returned is 45,000 results total in the index. How hard should it be to get first page for a keyword like this? How fast should I anticipate getting to front page? My website is a couple years old too so it has some weight and age.
Shouldn't be too hard. 45K pages is not too much competition. Doing white hat SEO will drive you to the top. Good luck!
45K pages is really nothing! Keep it simple, do not spam, be patient and good things will happen. Try blog posts and submitting to quality directories...It'd take some money and time. But it's worth it!
Proper onpage and offpage optimization is sufficient for that. Participate in forums which are giving dofollow backlink for signature, Use appropriate keyword and url for that, in the same way go for directory submission, try to utilize the targeted keywords in the description of directory submissions aswell.. That helps alot.
intitle : "blue widgets los angeles" shows 0 results what you have here is the easiest keyword ever , register bluewidgetslosangeles.com (it's available) and you should be #1 in a week or two. good luck
Yeah that is hardly any competition, get some quality back links and use those keywords in your anchor text. It can be done in less than a week =).
haha my keyword isn't exactly blue widgets los angeles.. that was just an example. Most of my intitle: shows about 21.500 results without quotes... and very little with quotes. Now 3-5 days huh? What strategy would you use to get there in 3-5 days?
there is no strategy to rank for that keyword, and if that wasn't ur keyword what is the point if you original question ? anyway always estimate the difficulty using quotes. anything less than 1000 is very easy.
thank you for the input... i just used that as an example because i prefer not to tell people keywords for my site ;D
