I'm unemployed, on a scheme in the UK to try to start my own business - I'm using the net as a way to get a tiny bit extra income to get on my own two feet. Its hard, but I'm hoping with dedication it will be possible.

Adsense takes a lot work to really make a go at it. Trust me, as I had many sleepness nights over it.

Shane..if you think its tough getting a job in the US try coming to Spain or France.. even better yet, go down to south america or over to eastern europe. The US is financial paradise compared to 90% of the rest of the world.

As someone else mentioned, be the best..or at least in the top 20% of your field and you'll never have problems finding a job. I'm 31 now and I've only worked in a company 1 year of my life, when I was 23. I would much rather work for myself building income streams than work to make someone else richer, and have to keep working to earn money.

Many people prefer working a job and that's ok too, its just not for me because it has no leverage and no residual value. With the internet you build systems and streams of income that work on their own, freeing up your time to go make more money or do whatever you feel like.

I think you can build up AdSense revenue to survival income in 6 months starting from scratch, but you have to work at it like a full time job and ignore the initial results (or lack of).

    Hey Nita,

It wasn't the best Idea to click on all the adds on my blog. Not honest to the advertisers. I'll have to write to them and have them remove them from my earnings. Thanks.

that's very motivational!.. yes you make lots of sense there!
internet really opens up the whole new world!
a new world right in your monitor screen!
you can earn while from anyone whos connected from any part of the world
without you having to even been there..
but like you said.. the tough part is the initial..
but then again.. that applies to almost everything in life
but with internet, the reward is potentially bigger
and you don't just make other people rich..

yeah - there is a lot of trial and error to be made. I wanted to say thanks to those that have already donated to the GasorGroceries site. The roundtable discussion that we have had here in this thread was the one of the reasons why I put it I there. I am a little bit closer to achieving my goal but I still have quite a ways to go. In the mean time - I still keep working at the Adsense.

Get a job dude. If you have a car, you can deliver pizza. I used to do it and made quite some money with tips.
Also, add adsense to your website(s).

    Best of luck.

I see you commented about there being no sort of "sponsorship" scheme in the US? We have "apprenticeship" training over here in the UK, you must have something similiar..

Im now up to $200 a month from adsense, not great but its growing.. I've also invested heavily into other schemes such as affiliate sales and online script sales.. Making about $1k a month or something close. It can be done, just keep working at it.

Don't do that.... don't reduce online earning to something you can do by simply working really hard at it. It's flat out false. The internet is full of broke hard workers. In fact that's why they work so hard, because they're broke!

Being successful online does take hard work but that is but a fraction of it. It is no different than the regular work force. It depends on who, and MOST importantly, what you know.

I worked hard for years doing the wrong thing before I "got it". I figured out the tricks and methods it takes to make you successful. Now looking back I know all that hard work was great for building my resolve but had I just kept on working hard and plugging away I'd still be broke.

Now I make enough money to outsource to people and I work 10 times less than those hard workers out there. And it's because of what I know.

    That's what I thought too.
    Apparently so did bucky.

I'm currently 'between jobs' and bringing in a meger $4 a day with adsense. On the plus side, my attempts to build my adsense revenue is forcing me to learn a lot about web design, marketing and general business skills that should help me either find a job or become self-reliant.

Honestly, if you need money quickly then AdSense isn't the place to start. You'd be better off with affiliate selling. Sign up as a ClickBank affiliate, find a product (start with one) that you like and that you think you can sell, and start promoting it. Alternatively, join a free membership site like Mr. OverDeliver or MyFreeGiveaway to get access to products with resale rights. Setup a free Payloadz account and sell them from there.

Note, I am not saying that affiliate selling is easier than AdSense, only that you can start making money more quickly. ClickBank pays twice a month, for example, and with Payloadz the money's yours as soon as it hits your PayPal account. But it's a lot of work, because you need to create websites and autoresponders and so on.
