Suggestion Can we have the bumping system brought back in the BST section?

    Hi Dp,

Do yo know if we can get the bump when someone replies to a post in the BST section? I don't see many sales going through anymore since this was removed since it gets buried so quickly by all the new threads and it has less of a chance to be seen. :( I saw many of my friends complain to me about this. Please reconsider...

Thanks alot for making this great site. The new features are awesome.

I think that should stay that way. I rather browse lots of pages rather than reading bump reply.

For sure a targeted buyer will search most of thread.

Bumping was one of our most problematic issue. Because of the bumping a lot of great sales threads lost out to unscrupulous members who resort to self bumping, mutual bumping or simply paying others to bump. I would like to remind all that if you need something, there is a Search Function.

Which is RETARDED. I can't find a thing. Even when I know the title of a thread!

Great!! I can\'t remember the thread title but someone was selling some proxy networks a bit back. I can\'t use the search as virginmedia has blocked me and I have resorted to using a proxy, figure I might as well buy my own proxy rather than use someone elses..

I think this guy had quite a few sites to sell. What is the URl?

    please click here

Then look on the right hand side just under the pages and numbers you will see "search this forum"

    enter keywords "selling proxy networks"

You will see 3 pages of posts with keywords "selling proxy network"

    or click this link

There was a thread (big one) about crazy reps, It got locked and buried.
I tried searching for it using google and without google too by typing "crazy rep" and didn't find it. I finally found it, but with a lot of hassles.
Then there was this thread " World through american eyes" it had a very good cartoon but I haven't been able to find again it till date.

I'm sure you will be able to find it, but it's difficult for average users. Not totally reliable.

    -Helvetii

P.S. When searching using google, do threads from underground section show up?

I thought this matter has been discussed long ago.

You can just change the settings like I do at the option page > Thread Sort Order.

Anyway, BUMPing is never allowed

    Cheers. :D

Can't we have it such that when the OP makes a post to his own thread it doesn't get bumped?
Thats the aim of this change right? To prevent people from bumping there own threads?

And we can also increase the minimum character limit in the BST from 10 to 100, 200 or even 500! That would stop users from posting useless comments.

This way "people who bump their own threads will be pissed" and buyers will be able to find popular threads :)

I don't see what problem this can create, other than that people can ask their friends to bump, but there would be a character limit (high) so unnecessary comments like ";;.....................................I'll...................buy..............it......" Can be easily spotted and infracted.

The Idea of sorting other sub-forums by last post is to ensure that popular threads attract attention, so why shouldn't the same apply to BST too? Don't popular threads in the BST deserve more attention rather than burial?

Please don't close this thread lets have a consctructive discussion (not an argument)

No Idea Can be perfect, you came up with this idea, now let the community suggest its own ideas. :)

    Thanks,
Looking forward to your comments :)

    Enable thread bumping.
The rules will be: 1 bump = 1 infraction.
    More than 1 bump / day = (bump amount x 3 infraction)

    :D

Really, show some effort. It's not hard to do a small search.

    Your kidding, right?

I just can not picture a moderator in the BST section steadily tapping F5 to watch for bumped threads.

Just imagine the massive amount of reported post - "he bumped his thread up and bumped mine out of the way"

I think the system is fine the way it is. No more bumped post from 2 years ago by someone building up their post count.
