Theme Change Please Review

I'm after some feedback on the wordpress theme I am using on my make money blogging blog.

I've hacked it to bits to make it a bit nicer looking and also to improve on its structure for SEO value.

I'd be really interested to hear what you think. I've also made a post which list the changes I've made and what more I intend to do.

Any new ideas would also be welcome.

Nice clean layout, I like it. Although I would say it needs a bit more colour splashed around the place to make it pop. Also, the featured post images need to be higher resolution - the thumbnails are pixelating.

Once you've got a custom header logo, it looks good to go! Nice work.

 

Yes I agree with the featured post script. It's a problem but not one I could find an easy solution to. I tried to play around with it but either it broke or just messed up the images.

Custom header will be coming soon as well. I thought about the color splash as you mentioned and tried a few variations but when I do that it tends to lose that clean snappy look and feel.

Any suggestions?

I've kept the number of images used in the theme to a minimum for improved load time. The background color is set but not far from pure white.

My motivation for that was to keep the look and feel crisp and clean. Color marketing says that blues and white imply trust.

Maybe I could try some different shades of blue in the background and see how it looks.

tidy site. You might want to increase the visibility of your opt-in box, and include a more catchy title to get people to sign up. For example.."Want to learn how to make unlimited income?...sign for our free 6 part mini-course...

theme looks okay, but NEEDS minor tweaks

1. fix the page pagination on the bottom to match your the colors
2. improve image quality

 

@clifton thanks for the advice, but the opt-in is how I want to it to be for now. I'm testing some different things.

Smiley face? Where is that?

 

Wow, I didn't even realise that was there. It only shows up when not logged in.

It's not in my code so I'll have to hunt around the plugins and see who is the culprit.

I really appreciate that, I probably wouldn't have known about it if not for you.

I just found where the smiley face was coming from. eeek!

WP- Stats. Yes the default WordPress supplied stats program that comes with Akismet. I'd never noticed it before, and because I also use Statpress, I think I'll be removing it completely.
