Getting public service ads but only on homepage

Okay I know that there are various answers to why your site might be getting Adsense PSA... usually your site is new, doesn't have much content, or sometimes the adsense zone is stuck in a weird table or something far from any relevant content.

However this is something new: In the past 3-4 months, one of my freeware sites constantly has PSAs. They show up unpredictably on the "download is starting" pages... and other times the ads are perfect and relevant.

Another example is a blog I have with tons of content about news, pop culture, etc. There is one 728x90 zone near the zop of my homepage that constantly shows PSAs... however NONE of the other pages or zones on the entire site EVER show PSAs except that one.

Ive emailed Google but of course they have no reply, since they are lazy dbags. Anyone have similiar problems before?

DONT SPAM THIS THREAD or your rep will suffer!

Have you added metatags to your site/blog?

Yes, full meta descriptions, keyword rich page titles, h1 h2 tags etc. I don't use keyword meta tags though which shouldn't matter.

This happen normally due to no keyword matched. Maybe you shall try to add more keyword at your homepage or change the ads placement to see whether this problem can be solved

@life, thanks. Our homepage is jammed full of articles and keywords, and this zone displays relevant ads on all our blog posts, but just not on the homepage. So I don't think its a keyword issue.

On a side note I forgot that every once in a while on a few post pages NONE of the adsense zones work. Is it possible that some javascript we have running is screwing with the Adsense relevance and functionality?

Adsense won't show if it encounters "stopwords". Words like: "murder", "slaughterhouse", "rape", etc.

They have a lot of stopwords and a few on a page can prevent ads from showing.

The javascript is not related to the PSA. IF the PSA display, mean your code is working fine. By the way, it will be better if you can provide your website link

Interesting, I never knew this. Is there an updated list of these words? It might be related since our site has a ton of very opinionated articles on it.

@life okay thanks much for that confirmation. If there are no other ideas posted tomorrow can I pm you the URL? I stopped posting public URLs long time ago! =\

It'll take sometime to show real ads there. Wait for Google to recrawl it again and it will show normal ads.
