When did DigitalPoint become a PR 4?

Is there a page rank update going on? I just noticed in my toolbar DP is a PR 4. I always remember it being a PR 7 or 6 for a couple years now. When did it change to a 4?

I had thought it would be pr 6 or 7.However,I don't mind that too much. I have got a lot of help from DP.

Google Pagerank keeps on changing every now and then. so, one should not be worried about that. As far as digital point is concerned, I just checked and it shows PR 4. So, how does it matter ? Pagerank drop does not means drop in the quality of the website. I am also new to this website and I have really learnt a lot from the valuable posts posted here. Had I searched for the same information over the internet, it would have taken me years.

So friend, don'y worry about Pagerank. See the value which Digital Point brings to you.

PageRank is definitely not the criteria once a site is popular and 1000's of user. As there are other medium like word of mouth and social media that will increase the popularity and users. If Google toolbar is understood by a non-internet savvy person or a layman then the credibility of sites like Forums / Social Networking will definitely matters.

Guys.... I'm not talking about DP's PR in relation to the quality of the site. I love DigitalPoint. What I'm asking is when did it get bumped down from a 7 to a 4? That's a big drop for an old site with a lot of links and traffic. It seems there has to be something going on Google doesn't like for that big of a drop...

This happened a few updates ago actually. I'm surprised that you didn't notice it before.

2 points. That's a big, big drop. But yeah, a lot of people are saying PR don't matter that much nowadays. DP still rocks! :)

DP is PR4 since last 6-8 months, But does that really matters?? I see no change in traffic on dp either when it was pr7.

The traffic is the only thing that decides popularity of a website and not PR.

I've had a PR3 site rank on the first page of Google for a very competitive term - so Toolbar PR means nothing. So don't sweat it. :)

DP pagerank move to PR4 in the last PR update which happen in June or July, which I can't remember.

Many big sites had their PR up and down, and that include DP too. Nothing weird here.

PR does not mean a lot. Google has readjusted his algorithm and it does that all the times. Now there is certainly a raison for this -2 points. Penality?

Toolbar PageRank is meaning less and less. I have a "nothing" site with less than 20 pages and a handful of mediocre backlinks that is a PR4, and a 8-year old directory with many thousands of backlinks and hundreds of indexed pages which is PR3.

I don't understand why pay so much attention on PageRank?

I only check PageRank when i want some link juice.

Page rank is not the most important factor in determining a website's worth. That has been clearly demonstrated by Matt from Google Webmaster Tools.

The only thing that matters is quality content and backlinks. Perhaps the quality of this site's content has been lacking? It is possible... or perhaps some links have been dropped... that can happen too.

I also feel that a drop in the pagerank no way means a drop in the quality of websites it has
