quality score problem

We are trying to setup adwords campaign for our website which sells body building supplements along with vitamins and dietary supplements, however there is a problem with quality score.

We have tried setting up the ad group based on the landing page as well as individual product pages (using google keyword tool). The quality score that comes up is 1/10 despite the fact that we have the keyword in the ad and on the site as well.

I am wondering if the site could be black listed or has some bad history with adwords. Could that be the case?

I would really appreciate your help

Quality score can be determined by these elements as following (including but not limited):
    1.CTR
2.Whether the keywords and contents are related to the landing pages.
    3.Account history
    4.Quality of the landing page
Therefore, you'd better optimize your account corresponding to these points and then you will see obvious change of the quality score.

To put it simply, you've been given a low QS because you're an affiliate site + you're selling supplements. Google has openly said that these sites are likely to attract low Quality Scores - honestly, don't waste any more of your time / money on adwords with this business model. Adwords can be great, but it won't be for you - my advice would be to try ad center

It's more that you're selling supplements then being an affiliate. Google doesn't like those.

the site is a real online store. there is nothing to do with affiliate product selling.

i have a feeling that the previous owners could have done something....

The site is thextonhealth.com.au if you want to check it out.

I have a feeling there is some kind of google slap happening at the moment and we are just not meeting their criteria

These type of sites can do much better using that budget for CPA networks and even banner advertising. Most people are willing to spend $1-$2k per month on PPC, but they could get an IPO with Yahoo or some other network and generate way more sales from better traffic.

Sorry I meant IO (Insertion Order). You can 'buy' traffic on credit even. It's all about the numbers in the end :)
If it converts, then it's worth spending more, but the truth is that PPC can be a VERY expensive way to test if your niche is competitive.
