Anyone know if the cost to advertise an online dating site is low, high, or average (relative to other niches) ?
There's no point in comparing costs in one niche against another. It's like comparing the price of a computer with the price of a car. Yep, one's higher than the other but where does that get you? Useless information. Plus, in all niches, you have advertisers paying what would be considered low and other high. The reasons depend on many factors.
...and what I'm ultimately trying to figure out is how I do it "right". I'm currently running a $0.50 CPC Adwords campaign, and in addition will be doing some local "grass-roots" advertising (flyering) in Toronto soon...
High CTR means only traffic, you better look after how to convert. The cost is high on online dating on PPC. Getting free member is actually quite easy but when it's time to make them pay (aka Goldmember) then it becomes harder. Try to focus on building a strategy to convert Free Members onto Goldmembers within your website and the PPC should only bring you the Free Membership traffic. Cheers
