Question for all the Joomla experts out there.

Does anyone know how I could acheive this kind of effect that Mens Health have acheived using Joomla?

    http://www.menshealth.co.uk/

What I am talking about is the article list running down the middle of the page. Articles all gathered dinamically from Joomla. Would I just create the articles and then create a new module for each one?

    Thanks, appreciate any feedback.

There are many possible methods to accomplish what you want in Joomla. Its native article system should work for what you want. I think the easiest way is to use the right template (and of course assigning your modules to the proper positions) and to select the appropriate extension that allows you to customize your article display. You'll want to visit the Joomla Extension Directory and take a peek at the News Display subsection, located here:

    http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/news-display

Gavick makes some very good third-party free extensions dedicated to fancy article displays (including pictures), but take the time to research.

If you want to use cross-index articles across many categories, Joomla does not natively support this yet. However, there are several extensions that can help you get around that limitation, such as the ones listed here:
    http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/structure-a-navigation/multi-categorization

Additionally, Content Construction Kits (CCK) are available here:
    http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/news-production/content-construction

The best thing to do is literally map out what you want to do first, then go extension hunting. Colored pencils and drawing or graphing paper are actually very valuable tools during the initial site design phase. :)

to accomplish that, you just need to pick the right extension....you may need to do some coding to get it exactly as you wish...

also look for tab slider extension...it would be similar to ones you find on yahoo home page.....
