Okay I work for a company that "Direct Markets" and when I say they Direct Market I mean they basically send us out and do the whole phone marketing thing in person so people may feel bad or something, Idk ANYWAYS I'm kinda new the the game of "Direct Marketing" and Their philosophy is along the lines of "Do not act like a sales person, sell yourself first then sell the product" However, they give you this pitch that I just don't see working (ex. Hi, How are you today? That's great I'm actually here on behalf of Carol Martin Day Spa and Salon, have you ever heard of them? No? Well She's located right on blah blah blah rd. And she's looking for Ladies who would love to be treated like royalty but don't feel like spending the extra cash. Safe to say I've stumbled upon some queens in hiding right? Well check it out, What she did was for the price you'd spend on one trip to the spa, she's going to give you 5. Crazy right? You get a 45 Min Facial, 45 Min Body massage, Mani and Pedi, Plus the works done to your hair, Girl I'm talking washed cut dried and style. Now usually it's about 200 dollars for all of that right? Well guess what? Today, you get it for $40... Plus she gives you 6 months to redeem them all. The only thing that we ask is that you tip the ladies like you normally would when you go out. We take cash check and charge, So How man can I get you lovely ladies?) .. no matter how I put it together I don't seem to get the results I need. Maybe I talk too much, who knows. They are throwing an ex wanna be content writer in the field of Business to business merch marketing and it's driving me crazy.. There has to be a way I have have this mess explained to me so I can get my sales up. Anyone out there, any advice would be great
First off, don't start off with "how are you today?" They know what's comin' after that, and so would I. The first words out of my mouth would be: "Can you please put me on your do not call list?" It is so overused anyway. Trying to sell them over the phone is next to impossible because they haven't even seen the place, the haven't talked to the staff there. I can't think of anything other than just telling them about the specials, and then wishing them a good day. But, in order to get a commission, you have to make the sale right there and there, right? Wow, you are in for a tough time. Sorry.
All I want to say is, give them a blast and don't talk to them as a friend ( eg., don't start your conversation with "how are you today" - they don't know you and it sounds suspicious ) .. I believe it's not a dating service ?
I didn't meant is a tip for telemarketing or business-to-buisness type of 'something' - if you didn't get it right ( or didn't get it at all ), sorry .. there's no way I could explain it better than that. Good luck ( a way to go to achieve 'I'm a professional' )
