I've been yoyo-ing up and down the serps like crazy lately. From #2 to #70 to #30 then (thank god) back to #2. Stopped checking because it's making me dizzy. If you're paranoid, and you should be, then you ought to stop teasing them. You're too cocky for your own good matey, this is the dragon that feeds you. It could squish you in a nanosec and nobody would even notice.
Yes, Google is like a giant with a thousand nipples, and I'm dependent on its juice. Disgusting metaphor aside, if Google decided to bomb me, all my hard work would go to nadda.
My rankings have increased due to caffeine, I can't wait to mess with this algo more and see what works and doesn't -- are there any guides out yet for this algo or research papers google released?
I think its not live yet ... Atleast there will one post in Google Blog about it being live So its not yet live but i think it will be by this weekend
often the best option. there is some truth to this. ..if we were doing anything wrong, or even needed the site for business reasons i'd be more bothered. it's mainly (white hat) experimental anyway. and if they crushed us for "being too good".. well that wouldnt be so bad either.
There is one teensy odd thing I've noticed, namely that the number of my indexed pages hasn't budged an inch for more than 24 hours, which hasn't happened in living memory. Meanwhile, the number of pages I have indexed in the caffeine sandbox is fluctuating as usual. I actually have no idea what this means. I thought G might have stopped updating the old index prior to the migration, but it is indexing DP at what seems to be the normal rate.
that's quite interesting. I've noticed that we have significantly different amounts of pages indexed in Caffeine than in old Google, and the site:w ww.site.com/* search also shows a similar amount more pages on caffeine. numbers are Google old pages indexed 277 Google caffeine pages indexed 348 google old /* search 137 G caffeine /* search 211 its a little uncertain whether that search is really working anymore and exactly what its showing nowadays but it does still seem that its only pages found in that search that regularly show up as getting hits in stats. so it does still look like this is the "main" index or "pages that rank" to us, and this does look to be a significant difference in the way the site looks to Google.
I haven't seen any big changes as of yet. However I am noticing today alot of people are saying there sites have vaniched on google. Now that may be a sign. Or it may be just other factors. We will see what tommorrow morning brings when the holiday is over.
I don't even see my site in the positions it held before. I was on page 4 for some keywords, now I do not know where it is. What is different with this update and when will Google start ranking my site better? I had my site for 10 months now and put a lot of work in it by adding fresh content. Does Google prefer older sites and when will I start seeing better results?
It seems to me that it may be a bit harder to rank. I'm ahead on some rankings and down on others. I think there may be a minor change in the algorithm.
Good for you That's quite a surge. Then again if EVERYBODY has more pages in caffeine then the end result won't be much different. YO! Anyone have LESS pages indexed in caffeine?
