Is my site banned?

Discussion in 'Google' started by dodolls, Sep 6, 2009.

I was checking if my site was banned by Google after I dropped my PR. When I use site:mysite.com, Google shows some indexed pages. But when I change it to site:www.mysite.com, Google shows no indexed pages? Could this be an indication that my site is banned?

    Thanks

Can you tell me your site, so can I try to find it out for you.

It can be banned, but don't be to sure it is.

if site:www.domain.com works than not banned.

dropped pr not equal to banner.

pr can be dropped due to mistake or link sales.

Site is the first one in my signature. I'm really concerned since I found other sites to have similar results of indexed sites when using both with www and without.

    @juston

Yes, I think Google dropped my PR for link sale.

never mind - just keep on working. i had pr drop on several projects - did nothing and got it back.

don't remove links to your projects! this will proove that you were cheatering and you will not get pr back for long time.
don't remove links on your site to others as well
just keep on woking - may be continue buying links or posts slowly.

i guess that google tries suspicious websites in such way. if you try to remove in/out links - it will only proove to google you are guilty.

Google nowadays treats websites with http://www.xyz.com and http://xyz.com differently with respect to PR . You need to do the modification in Google webmasters tools also. It's always better to maintain http://www.xyz.com as single format only so that Google does not drop PR and also indexes the pages in a single format only.

No, you are fine, it is not banned. The PageRank dropped because Google determined it to be less relevant now than in the past.

I want to know how Google comes to know about link sales or purchase ? Only humans can determine that.

no, google does not know for sure. it supposes and then sees how site owner proceeds :)

+ it is possible to follow link sales from forums like DP if link is told on public.
    + link farms

    Link farms i understand
    But

If selling and buying links are not good on this forum then why are people still doing it ? They don't know this ?

There is definitely something more to understand

serious sellers NEVER post links in sell links section. only by PM. that are some kind of unwritten rules :)

personally I will never buy link from the guy who posts it in public.
