Do you have some website where you want to place affiliate offers? If yes then try to find affiliate program with products in your niche. If you will promote products related to your website you can expect good conversion ratio. If no start to promote product or service offering residual commissions. This way you will earn many more than with one-time commissions.

The network you choose to work with will depend on the type of traffic you have (if you have existing traffic). Clickbank, eBay, Amazon -- those are very different from the type of network that we are for example (or some of the others mentioned such as Azoogle or Neverblue). With us (and them,) you find a lot more trial offers and free offers, versus getting someone to actually buy a product.

I suggest you create a website with what interests you as that will help you create a better website and maybe also help a visitor out at the same time. if you decide to run a content heavy site with many affiliate links, then I recommend you try skimlinks which can automatically convert outbound links to affiliate links and will help you reach many affiliate networks.
Usually the most successful affiliates pick a niche, and try to get as many affiliates as you can in that niche. That way when visitors hit your site, they know what your site is about, and they feel more comfortable clicking the links. Amazon and eBay are good if you have a LOT of traffic. Usually their payouts are pretty low, but I know some people who have made good money from these programs. I would search for sites in your chosen niche and contact them about becoming an affiliate. Finding which place pays the most is pretty subjective. There are some niches which pay higher in general. I personally am an affiliate manager for online casino's and the people who send us tons of traffic can get large CPA's (over $120). There are also other deal types out there like RevShare which is a residual business. The best thing is to build niches and most importantly: Diversify. Try a gamaing site, a weight loss, etc. You'll make more money, get more practice, and get better over-all while learning which work.

Depending on which network you choose they all have different network but if you pick a general network you can for sure request a offer and have them pull it in for you, We just did it for a dating offer.

Networks are a dime a dozen... despite how the AM's at some of the networks try to make it seem. Nevermind the product. Focus on finding a need first... thats your niche. Then find a network that has a product that can fill that need. Aff. marketing in 3 lines.
