Which you think the best sitemap generator Plugin we can use in our wordpress blog. I think Sitemap is an important part of every blog, So expecting valuable comments from you.
Just check your blog about availability of sitemap file like yourblog.wordpress.com/sitemap.xml If you use wordpress default hosting for you blog sitemap already should be generated and you have to just submit it in google webmaster tools. It looks in your browser like: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> - <!-- generator="wordpress.com" --> - <urlset xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9 http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9/sitemap.xsd" xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9"> ....... ....... </urlset> I am not sure about this option if you use your own selfhosted domain for blog.
I'm using this one http://www.arnebrachhold.de/projects/wordpress-plugins/google-xml-sitemaps-generator/
Hello awa, Very glad to know that you are using my favorite wordpress plugin. Hope this plugin works well for everyone.
on the wordpress.org with search "sitemap" show about 40 Sitemap plugins... http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=sitemap so it's not easy to choose one... "Google XML Sitemaps" have 1,847,371 Downloads. so maybe it's really good.
This one is definetly the best. A lot of options, default are good but you can tune everything. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/google-sitemap-generator/
wordpress.org/extend/plugins/standard-xml-sitemap/ is great. Works with both WP and WPMU and also adds a robots.txt for you. You may need to make a small correction (not sure if the plugin author has done it yet) to fix the date format. You can find the fix at patrick.bloggles.info/2008/07/26/standard-xml-sitemap-plugin/comment-page-1/#comment-355
I have wordpress and dont use sitemap...my page is updated in google in 1h-2h with new posts. Dont think wordpress need sitemap.
I use google XML sitemaps in my wordpress blog. Pretty neat they are. Have some problem notifying Yahoo with the plugin even after providing my yahoo developer API.
Really, I think sitemaps only needed if your blog have 1000+ pages. For usual sites with 50-100 pages I think google will be able to index all info...
