I always think back to the 'graphic' video(s) back in the day I used to see on MTV.....you know, back when they actually played MUSIC VIDEOS on MTV...

I think they (NIN) are solid but not in my top ten by any means. I like Tool a lot better for instance.

    yeah youtube rocks!

Personally I LOVE nine inch nails - i was into him way back when "head like a hole" was getting played every night at the clubs. Also "down in it". That cd "Pretty Hate Machine" is hard to beat, but personally I'll have to agree with daniel up there - "The Downward Spiral" is IMHO his best effort. Have you heard the disc "Further down the Spiral"? Also an EXCELLENT listen especially if you're a fan of TDS.

"With Teeth" is really a terrific CD, i've given it a lot of listen. I sure wish i had had a chance to see him this tour - i would have LOVED to see NIN/Bauhaus share the stage. kicking myself for not biting the bullet and making the road trip, but the closest they came to where i live was Chicago which is 8 hours away. oh well.

glad you got to see the show Noobie, i heard it was fantastic.

I love Tool too - but they've gone soft. Everything after aenemia hasn't rocked as hard as I'd like (for the most part). They're still totally awesome but NIN keeps on rocking really hard. I think NINs "softest" album was The Fragile but it's still good too.

I dunno - like I said I've been listening to NIN while I workout - I couldn't do that with tool, their too slow a lot of the time except for maybe some of their stuff off the first album like sweat, part of me and so on.

Plus NIN tends to sing about problems + getting over problems to a degree, whereas tool tends to sing about problems only (granted they do sing about resolving problems some). Not to mention that tool tends to sing about really disturbing problems.

just my 2 cents from a hard core tool+nin fan.

I like Undertow better than most albums out there....quality songs.

Sounds like NIN is commercialize a bit in their last album.

Tool says their music is tounge (sp?) in cheek ie it's not all that serious.

I like Tool a lot more than NIN, but then again I like prog quite a bit e.g Rush, Pink Floyd etc....NIN is it's own style of music, and fairly unique.

The best thing on the internet to me now is yahoo launchcast....

    Here's my station....

    Check-out my music 'station'.

I use to really love them. I went to see them at the big day out (a concert here in Sydney every Jan 26th) I went crowd surfing got put right in front of Trent as he was kneeling down in the middle of a painful screech.

I had a glow stick I had found, so did the only sensible thing I could think of.

I threw it at him, he just ducked it, but it almost got him in the head. I looked up, saw the security so made a run along the front of the stage and dissapeared into the crowd.... very funny, though it may have been the beer speaking!

    ;)

Downward Spiral has to be one of the all time best "psyche-up" albums of all time.

If I am going out and don't really feel like it you listen to this album, in particular Heresy at high enough volumes to upset the neighbours and garunteed you will be ready and rareing to go for a big night out on the tiles

    dub/reggae kind of stuff
    kingtubby,mad professor,lee perry,black uhuru kind of stuff
and some local new zealand stuff
    and some punk
    like black flag, anti-flag, nofx,rancid,

i used to be a big fan of stuff like NIN, tool etc.. but grew out of it and went to more harder stuff like dying fetus, cannabil corpse, diecide.. then i grew out of the teenage depression stage and cant really listen to it anymore

no offense to anyone that listens to it or anything... wasnt meaning that way
