Hi i have a question. what do i need to send to the registrar when i want to buy a domain name. Do i need to leave personal information like address and name?If so do they need any verification like a scanned passport.
Yes, you need provide your name and address, you need also credit card or paypal. When you register domain you can setup as private domain - your data will be not visible. On Name.com this service is free.
An available domain name, a credit card / paypal account to make payment, a valid email id for you to receive information - and ICANN required valid address. No scanned documents are required for submission - so you just need to type in the details with any domain registrar to register any domain name including a .com
Scanned documents such as passport are not required just as the guys upstair said.I still want to mention you one point, you can still get private registration so that your personal information can't be accessed by others. But this is usually not free. You can first choose a domain registrar and then ask them some more details.
Thank you for your mention. What I want to say is, different registar has different policy, for example, name is free, but godaddy is not free.I just want to tell the guy such service can be avaliable.Thank you all the same.
If someone gives wrong address when registering domain name then what? Can we change those address and infos later?
Is domain name owner name changeable too ? Can we do that with goDaddy.com ? Is there any service charge for it ? Thanks
You must provide two things: 1. Your personal info - name, address etc; AND 2. Money (CC or paypal) All the best!
Well, You basically need just one Thing - Money and The available Domain. Money in the form the Registrar accepts it eg : paypal ,CC , Bank Transfer , Demand Draft etc . The Info You are referring to is more of your concern as technically the person or the Registrant is the owner of the domain. But always keep the email , as your working email, need not be a primary email but something where if needed, the registrar may notify u, say in case the domain is close to expiry.
Ya, true personal info, they won verify unless u buy some country level domain like .sg, .my, and etc.
Beware each domain name zone has own rules for registration. Be very accurate or that might happen you lose your domain name
Justhost is currently offering free domain name plus hosting where they need your CC info only.. so need to send them your scanned documents.
