Keyword problem

    dear fellows i am doing SEO for a 'keyword'. now it is said that there should be some variations in keyword while placing an anchor text for back links e.g ' keyword xyz' or 'xyz keyword'.

    now problem is that the site stands good for the variations but not for the actual keyword.So which approach should i follow or where i am wrong???

    Well in that case I would say that put more efforts on that perticular keywords only (use it in anchor texts with the specific url) btw what is that keyword?

    Looks like your number 1 competitor is: www.barcelona-girona-airport.com and they have almost 400 inbound links using the phrase: 'girona airport' and the spanish variation. You are going to need that many to even come close to outranking them, get to link building and focus on the phrase your visitors will be using (eg girona airport and Aeropuerto de Gerona)

    get links from every possible source related to "Girona", get 40% of the links using your main targeted keyword and the rest using variations, the purpose of using variation is to make ur link building seem natural and to increase your rankings for your main targeted keyword.
