Twitter can be useful to get traffic to your site, it's just type of the site thats matters. E.g. killsometime sites is perfect through Twitter, and often blogs.

Every day similar topics appear on this forum about Twitter. Read through the various other topics and you will find all of the information you need.

Here is a tip when you write articles or content on your blog. Hope you have a blog :) then use in the title your seo keywords what your site is about.

When you post it on twitter The title of your post and your link.

Then what happen is people use sometimes twitter as search engine.

So they might stumble on your article or post.

The aim is feed the search engines with quality and twitter with quality.

Then it will give you bakc quality. Do not just aim for a sale make a difference in peoples lives.

    Be Bless

I focused on using twitter for around a month and was getting very little traffic. For the time spent on there, it was not worth it.
I also don't like twitter in general though so that might be why it didn't work for me.

so your stuck in the 90's ey?

Twitter is a great tool, so are many other social networks, but you must work at them.
It's not something that as soon as you signup, you'll get thousands of visitors :D

I think Twitter is only as effective as the ways in which you choose to use it. If you spam a lot of links, then of course, it won't be of any value because no one will read your tweets. If you use Twitter for conversation with your followers, then you could have a very powerful marketing tool on your hands.

    Hi,

i think Twitter more or less bring some traffic to my website. Make use of the Search facility to find out what product/ service users are looking for.

If you setup twitter and a few useful tools correctly then you will easily gain target traffic from twitter, you just need to know what your doing.

And if you get it right you wont even need to lift a finger after you have setup the tools!

Twitter nowadays brings up to 60% of my traffic to my site, usually it is about 25%.. I have followers who themselves have followers in the hundreds of thousands and I also could call on some of them to do a retweet.

Then again, I am not using twitter as a tool for "make money fast look at my affiliate products" but in the sense it was ment to be. As a tool of exploration and communication.

I find that people stuck in the web 1.0 world have a hard time understanding web 2.0 because they do not get that point. Think TV. Before I was forced to watch the commercials (or get something),. but today there is Tivo. You are still trying to do advertising, we are long past that.

If you want it for the quick turnaround, you will be stuck with the same things like in SEO: you can either have organic or you have to pay for it and put extra money and work in it.

The work you put into _real_ social networking activity to build up your profile and friends is not going away but is transporting from system to system.

even if you buy careful twitter followers, they are bought and forced viewers - not friends who are then to click.
