Most people dont realize how many times they use a search engine in a day. Personally Ive probably used google about 20-30 times today.
Without search engines, I guess we would rely heavily on word of mouth recommendations about other websites, using "local searches" on directory sites (lists of lists), and probably turn more to social networking features to keep track of interesting things and ask random questions like we do now with a quick SE query. Pretty much like I remember in 1993 before I started to do anything seriously with Google or Yahoo. Maybe I would pay more attention to ads that actually mention a website URL on radio, TV, billboards, magazines, etc. I don't know, it would be strange and probably frustrating.
Considering that my income depends on search engine traffic, I would hate it if the SE's didn't exist
It will make life difficult especially in information searching. We gotta spend whole day at the book shop for the information that we can now only spend only one hour online
i love how everyone quotes me i cant even imagine a world without google though; it's the perfect sanctum to all life's important questions. for example: how do snails have sex? life changing i tell you.
