NO ODP Tag - Experiment to Stop Bad Descriptions in Search Engines

    If you don't like the fact that Google or other search engines are using the OPD/DMOZ description of a site, I have seen a new tag that has not been proven yet, but is worth a try:

    <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOODP">
    <META NAME="msnbot" CONTENT="NOODP">
    <META NAME="googlebot" CONTENT="NOODP">

    I guess it was proven by Matt Cutts... :rolleyes:

    Put it on one of my websites, on which Google shows ODP title. Will notify you if it works...

    Well, it worked! My site now shows up in Google with its own title!
    Saw results after 2 days... :rolleyes:
