I like to know if anyone knows about a free autoresponder service to collect emails.
I could of course use aweber, but the thing is, it cost money.

I have used phplist to bulid my mailinglist, but it does not have auto responder option.

Hope to get some tips on this one.

If I was you I would pay for the likes of aweber as at the end of the day your email list is your business. You want security of your list. These other ones might be free but are they safe.

    Hello IceBandit,

If you are going to try a free one due to lack of available funds

Make a list of your customers on a text file as backup

Then, when the day comes that you wish to join one of the big boys, it becomes easy to transfer the list.

If you business is an experiment this approach is fine, when you are making some money each money each month, just shift gears

    All the Best

There is a free mailing list service at bravenet.com, it holds up to 500 subscribers and has worked very well for me.

Just get a hosting account and setup an email account with auto responder. You can use mailing list too.

Use Aweber or a similar paid service. This way you can avoid all kinds of SPAM issues as they can double opt-in your leads.

    It's worth the cost!

Are you planning to eventually move over to AWeber? I've read accounts of some ppl having some complications moving their list over to AWeber from elsewhere, so it may be worth it to just start off w/ AWeber. They give you the 1st month for $1 right now.

You are right. Also aweber has a delivery rate. Your email list will serve you for lifetime so you should invest a little money in it.

There are so many free auto responder services out there. Some paid auto responder will give you 1 month trial for a nominal fees.

Let me look at my notes and post another reply.

    Cheer.

I like MailChimp. They are free for the first 500 subscribers and then very affordable as your list gets bigger. I love their UI, they are very simple to use and a lot of fun.
