Hello people I was checking my records and it seems 4 months ago i earned 4-9 cents for every click in my proxy site, now i earn exactly 1 cent for every click its getting really annoying plus some days i randomly get weird ads instead of relevant ones :S whats the problem with adsense is this due to the economy issues?

Yep, economy issue is a factor and at the mean time smart pricing plays a lead role. Remove the ad slots where you get low CTR and see the changes within next couple of days ;)

I don't think Adsense is paying less.
May be those ads are of less value or someone from a different country clicked on your ad so you got less.

Why do people always post these threads saying adsense is paying less. It is simple.

Months ago an advertiser may have been paying 10 cents per click so you were getting 5, and now nobody in your niche is paying more than 2 cents per click so you aren't going to get 5 you are going to get 1 cent. It is all based on how much advertisers are paying ... not Google its self.

Well that would mean Adsense is paying out less than what they used to. I understand where you're coming from, but when it comes down to it we are getting less $ for the same amt. of clicks. I think that's what the original poster was mainly referring to. I agree its due to the shitty economy.

I am still getting regular clicks. I've been getting $2 clicks, and averaging around $0.80 clicks

yup< the economy is screwed! Even web design business is getting the shaft. But ya, people are spending less so adsense is paying less.

I think adsense is paying according to your website contents and traffic regulations

I have had the same sites with same ads on them for years now I noticed drops in what google was paying out over a year ago where my earnings over night literally doped in half and once again in the last month I have noticed this has happened again my traffic is the same some times more some times less. I am in many niche's many of which are high paying (supposedly) but with in the last month once again my income has been cut in half.

I am hoping this will fix it's self but it is getting to the point that google is in no doubt ripping off us website owners. I know of certain clicks that they charge in the $20 + range and used to pay me -$2 - $3 per click are now paying as low as $0.05 per click even though the cost is the same are higher.

My guess is google is feeling the crunch of a bad economy and is shaving in all the places that they can. and since there is no real competition to take adsense's ad space I guess they figure they can do what they want and pay as little as they want knowing that you and me have little or no choice but to keep the ads up and keep making google billions.

Sure which bing or yahoo would come up with a global ad network, that could compete with adsense and open it to the public
