I have many blogs and websites. The thing that i always see is, websites have more ctr than blogs. Blogs are search engine friendly, but if your site is popular even static html pages gets indexed by search engines hourly.
why is blog easy to seo? and what content do you display on your blog ? anyway i prefer a website so far.
You should use blog for a niche, which you think you can write with it for a long time, day by day,...! And choose to use website for a niche that you can write about 5,10 pages about it only (1 entry/ page). I found that website is easier for me to do with Adsense, not spend much time to update like blogs, just spend time for the first preparation and then try hard to build backlink. Further more, the website ( as I think ) will display more relevant ads than blogs, and high CTR than blog ( Like rahul23 said )
IMO Websites have great capacity as far as SEO is concerned, even though as far as user experience is concerned Blog would be better due to its Web 2.0 capabilities But then if you dont have ranking what good use is user experience
I think it depends on what your using it for. Since this is the adsense category I would recommend going with a self-hosted wordpress. Wordpress by it self takes care of about 80% of the onpage seo factors. You can get plugins to do the rest. It is easy to use and you don't even need to bother with design(get a free theme). I like that you can get tons of possible backlinks with both rss feeds and trackbacks. Works well when creating a proper permalink structure. It also goes well when you are creating link wheels. If you do it right and do the proper market research before hand you can make around $200 - $300 a month per blog. Most people don't understand that Market Research is the reason they fail at adsense. You should focus on sites that have less than 100,000 competing sites under phrase search. Than search for a 10 long tail keywords that get around 100 visitors per day. Create 2 for each article. Rewrite the second article 6 times for your link wheel. If you do this write you should be able to get great serps within a few days and on your way to making $300 a month. Just rinse and repeat when done.
what i have understood from my experience ,blogs are the latest and the quick way to earn but if you are targeting long term than a website would be a good option thought website needs patience
this is different thing... it depends on the things you do.. if i am developing a e-commerce store, i would have both.. if you are just writing about a particular niche, yes, blog is good enough.. but if u can, do it both.. i am saying this from SEO point of view... but if you are just writing regularly only, blog is good enough and I would say wordpress is the best.. hope that helps
I would go for blogs, based on the fact that you can get new posts indexed in minutes, which when fused with web trends can be extremely beneficial for revenue/SEO/traffic etc. Gave up on static sites years ago.
I do not see any difference between a blog and website. They are the same thing basically. What it comes down to is how you use on page and off page SEO.
Blog and website are same, it depends on your content and traffic. The more quality content + more targeted traffic, the more you can earn.
Both of my sites and blogs do about the same. But blogs ping g every time you post so you get in the results faster...imho Sometimes they show in g the same day as i posted....
