After years of hard work, I made $18,772 last month (after hosting, ppc, etc.)! Yay for me! I don't post an awful lot here, but to all the new affiliates out there - real money is possible from affiliate programs. Of the $18,772 about $18,000 is from affiliate programs, the rest is from Adsense. Pay-per-click for the month totaled about $100. I suck at it, so I don't do it much. Anyway, keep working hard, build your site for your users, and have patience! You can dooo it!
Wow, congrats! I'm new to affiliate marketing and I'm trying to learn the ropes..Do you have any pointers or tutorials? lol... Did you use Clickbank?
Thanks guys (or girls). No, I don't use Clickbank. I use LinkShare, CJ, and then a few internally-managed programs. The one pointer that's made ALL the difference for me is "do your keyword research before you build your website." There's no point building a site if you have no chance of ranking for the important keywords.
This is great info, and I appreciate you sharing it with me. I use Google keyword research tool for my keyword selection. Do you think this tool is good? Do you think a keyword that gets searched 60,000-100000 times a month would do good? I think there was like 65- 75 millions results in Google SERPS for a specific keyword. Anyways, congrats again, that's very impressive .
Well, in Commission Junction I made money from 17 different advertisers. I'd imagine the same is true in LinkShare. Then throw in the few internal programs, and a few at ShareASale, and I probably made money from 40 or so advertisers.
Hey discoverwebworks, it all depends on the competition. My "big" site is centered around a few keywords that don't get very much traffic, but I rank top 3 and convert really well. IMHO it doesn't matter how many times it gets searched - it's whether or not you can rank top 3 for that term. And (of course) you want it to be a term that can convert. If you rank top 3 for "pie fighting clowns" that's great, but I don't think you'll make any money off it.
Oh, I almost forgot to ask this as well. Do you use .info domains? I was thinking about purchasing a few of them for affiliates and either redirect them to the affiliate or have some sort of landing page they could then go through a link to the affiliate site.
I have 23 websites, but only about 5 of them make me any money. And sorry, but I won't show you. Unfortunately, affiliate marketing is a very secretive business.
I'm glad to see that you use CJ as well as Linkshare, I'm new to affiliate marketing and those are the two I've found to be the best looking to me. Awesome work on those numbers, I'll keep on working until I get at it. Big thanks for reminding me that I need to study my keywords more. I've been doing a lot of SEO, but not enough battling for the right keywords. I run a flash game arcade and the obvious keywords are impossible in my field. I'll definitely be giving my approach more thought.
That is good news. congratulate!!!! I am new affiliate marketer and i do hard work now thank you for share good reviews.
I too agree with it. Affiliate Marketing is a secretive business. But there is nothing wrong if you can share some of your tips to the wannabe marketers.
