After making my first thread a week or so ago and getting the repetitive feedback that my layout needed redesigning, I have finally done it. this is a great idea for a site, and I think the adsense placement is fine too. the only layout thing I see is that the top three horizontal bar colors (blue, dark gray, red) look somewhat strange together...the gray especially doesn't seem to flow. maybe make all three bars different shades of the same color, so it blends better? this is nitpicky though, it's great.
I agree with you that it looks strange, but I did that for a reason. If it blends in too much, the main point of the website is lost - the daily-tweet (the grey bar). Hopefully this will start to become popular as I start advertising!
