most publishers keep their directory free, but is there enough revenue in it to manage huge backlogs ?

incase u get around 1000-4000 urls a month, can u really manage it, like 50k urls annually. time spend in reviewing that many urls and revenue
is it really profitable for small webmasters thts my question

    time spend on free directory?
    revenue earned annually?

I will rather the inclusion of a new directory is really good... the busines is growing but along with it the level of competetion is also growing.

its worth if you feel that the dir has some good future prospect....

i would say that you should focus on building quality directory, than looking for big money. once your directory nicely built you can start thinking of money anytime. of course you can have both free and express submissions. those express submissions you get should take care of you.
