    Hey all,

if I start a campaign on Google Adwords with my main keywords, is there a chance it will improve my organic rankings on Google for those keywords too?

no speculations please... only answer if you are 100% sure and can back up your claims...

    Cheers

    Short answer - no.
Longer answer - no there isn't
Long answer - it's advertising, not link-building, the ads on search pages are never counted as links, the adsense ads are wrapped in javascript that also prevents them from being counted as links.

Yes, using adwords can enhance your search engine positions. But not directly.
Suppose you have quality site to which webmasters, bloggers will occasionally link. If you use adwords you'll have more traffic on your site - traffic can bring you some links - links will lift you up in the natural search.

Directly using adwords will have zero effect on your organic search ranking. However, the more you expose your site, there is the possibility of people linking to your site, or posting you site in a blog or forum.

Magda's answer is correct. Malak's above answer is INcorrect.

There is nothing you can do in Adwords to help you with organic rankings and vice versa.

Except as petemurray explains. No, Adwords has no direct effect on your organic rankings what so ever, and it even says this in Google's maze of a help center. However, if after people visit your site from clicking on your Ad, they then write an article about it, make a forum post, social bookmark it, etc, etc - then you will see some organic rankings benefit that way.

Use advertising to create a buzz about your site. Then your visitors "word of mouth" will help you organically.

But that is NOT specific to AdWords but to all advertising methods both online and offline.
