Billions of spam pages!!! v2

So, tonight I found another issue with Google. I found TONS of spam.
I also found out that virtually EVERY typo search reveals nothing but spam, just like those other few sites that had billions of pages indexed. Only now, they have changed their tactics. Now they seem to keep it just below 13,000 pages per domain. Instead, just registering 1000's of domains at 13,000 pages each. I have collected a list of about 40 or so domains in about 30min or less. This is a serious hole/exploit, they need to get it fixed ASAP.

Whats worse? I did whois on some of the domains, most of them were registered just two weeks ago, already they have this many pages indexed.
I could have sat here and copy/pasted spam domains all night, but I got bored with it. I think this is enough to get the point across =\

They don't seem to have figured it out at all. Too busy counting money to make search better.

 

Spent too much time, effort and money in making my pages indexed and here comes this news. Felt dumb and stu[id.

It seems SEO is not that difficult at all.

 

I like how it takes us months to get indexed with good traffic coming in, it only takes these guys a couple weeks.

Yea, I noticed that thread after I posted this one, you have some of the same URL's in your post as I found tonight. It's pretty sad. Stupid Google!

 

If they continue in that fashion they won't have any chance against Microsoft...

 

That's horrible, I hope those sites get blacklisted if they can't come forth with any relevant information.

 

Google needs to fix this but there is nothign that can be done now. All you can do is work on your own site and ignore the spam.

But it is in googles interest to remove the spam since the spam doesn't even have adsense so there is no way google can even profit off it in any way.

But the google algo also has a bias for keyword rich spam and gibberish and those spam sites get indexed quickly as a result. Thise spam sites also get lots of links quickly so the pages get added to the index without much trouble.

 

google need to fix alot of things, i guess this isnt Priority number one as yet.

 

google only cares about their adwords and adsense. And soon, will start their new checkout.

 

And again - amazing! How is it you guys find thousands of these sites, everyday it seems, and yet google appears oblivious to the fact they exist?

Ironically enough, most of the spam sites like this I find (usually several new domains a day) is the result of a service that uses Google's API's.

Forget the sandbox, Google needs to implement some kind of tar pit for brand new domains that extremely quickly build up thousands of subdomains and links. Trip that filter and you have to beg and plead to get the domain unbanned. No legitimate site or operation would ever generate thousands of sub-domains within a few weeks of registering the domain. Since there is a fianite number of country codes that like the UK sub-divide their ccTLD (e.g. example.co.uk) Google should be easily able to hard code these special cases.

 

I agree. I mean talk about "footprints". These spammers are leaving'em everywhere. And google appears to be unable to track them.

thousands of backlinks in a few days
all backlinks from blogs and forums
scraped content
jibberish (illegible) content
thousands of pages generated in a few days

So that's 6 "footprints" right there and it took me about 30 seconds to come up with'em right off the top of my head. Come on google! How hard can this be? There must be dozens of footprints on these dynamically generated spam sites.

 

That's a great list of footprints, each of which means nothing on its own, but put together could be a good way to flag for a manual review. Unfortunately Google can't detect gibberish content automatically, but there are a few other things you could add to that list, like a high density for a small number of keywords, and unusual numbers of subdomains.

They could flag the domain for urgent manual review, or put it in a pending status and suspend it from the index for a couple of weeks. These spammy domains only last a few weeks anyway.

 

I wonder how much these guys are making? Anyone have any idea?
$1000 per week? $10,000 per week? more?
