You should buy a .com domain name with hosting instead of a free .co.cc subdomain. Check my tutorial on how to move from wordpress.com to self hosting: http://wordpress.thelinuxpenguin.com/transferring/ (point 2) With a .co.cc domain you can just mask your real wordpress.com URL.
If you don't want to lose your PR, you can buy a domain with wordpress.com, and they will redirect all your pages from yoursite.wordpress.com to yoursite.com http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/
