Yes a CPC of $6 is very good, but not sustainable unless you are writing about a highly paying subject. I prefer popular topics, they may pay $0.1 per click, but it's easy to get thousands of visitors everyday, so in the end I'm earning way enough for myself.
ill be trying it out soon, sometimes even if you the same info you won't get good earnings from it, maybe we have to change the pattern of the size, whats your adsense size ?
It depends on what area of tech he focuses on. There are some good paying keywords out there. One of the challenges is finding a good paying combination that you can easily get volume traffic for. I've got several sites in high cpc range topics, but still working for good search placement.
Bah. A "friend" I know has a top ranking page for a medication and only get ~$1 per click. Oh well =)

Yes, it all depends on people clicking on which ads. If your content is related to a very competive industry you will see fast results ( $$ ) in your Adsense Accounts.
