Hi, I have launched a new website. The problem is that the pages of my website are indexing very slowly. So, I am not adding new content. Already there are approx 30 articles in my website and only two of them were indexed in Google in 5 days. So, Should I keep adding new content whether or not previous articles are indexed in search engines? Please give me some advice. Thanks in advance! momi
No problem, since your first old content is note indexed, then google will indexing 2 posts for you. Good luck and keep posting
You can make the old content new by adding something new or start adding unique content, it will help you to get indexed them alongwith the new content.
Do you have any backlinks to the articles that are already indexed? I think you should write new content regardless, then gradually build some backlinks to your new articles. Especially backlinks from frequently crawled webpages. Google will then index your newer articles in as fast as 5 hours (if the spider finds your articles through a frequently crawled webpage or website).
keep promoting your website and keep the content updated... generate rss feed for the site would help too.
It doesn't bother search engines to crawl a site either it is crawled before or not. If you content is good enough and linked in quality sites then your site is going to be crawled in a very short time. Next time when you publish new content make sure that you have bookmarked on top social bookmarking sites, SE will crawl ur site in less than 30 minutes.
Thanks to all who replied. I have submitted a sitemap of my site to google webmaster tools 5 days ago, but only 5 pages from it got indexed till now (2 out of 30 articles and 3 category pages). So, should I keep adding new content regardless of the pages indexing rate?
If you're adding new content via say, word press, have you got the automatic sitemap generation working? It seems to be really good for me and google seems to index my blog posts quite fast.
Adding new, original content is always good and will only help. Google will index your site based on various factors, one of which is how often new content is added so adding new content will not only make Google spider your site more frequently but will also cause it to index more/deeper pages.
I think, adding content is no harm, However, you have to make sure that the content is FRESH and UNIQUE, To get fast indexing, you have to get some more backlinks, that will help you to get index very fast and will lead google to visit your site very often for new updates
